Upbeatdancecenter.com - 717 Montgomery Ave. in The Meeting House Plaza
Upbeat Dance Center provides an exciting, professional, and nurturing environment of dance education for our community. The studio features classes in Jazz Funk, Hip Hop, B-Boy, Lyrical/Contemporary, Ballet, and Tap.  The studio lends itself to the bold, dynamic, and expressive dancer.  Our dancers are passionate about rhythm and movement through musical expression.

Our lessons are designed to build the students' confidence and self discipline in a comfortable, warm setting.  The dancers will learn to connect to their movement through kinetic awareness as well as from their emotions. Our studio always offers groundbreaking and enriching choreography and our teachers are always trained professionals.  Our teachers have had wide array of professional experience: choreography at the Kennedy Center, competed on "So You Think You Can Dance",  been in "Step Up 2-3D", and members of local companies such as "Contempra Dance Theater" , "Melange Contemporary Dance Company", "Rennie Harris Dancers", and on the 76er's Dunk Squad.

There is always a recital with affordable costumes in June.  The emphasis is always on ability and effort. Performances will always be positive, enriching experiences that will be a memorable and cherished part of your child's participation in dance.  We began nine years ago with 30 dancers on The Woman's Club of Bala Cynwyd stage and now we have reached 150 dancers on The Upper Merion High School stage!!!!! Most of our students take more than one class a week; they have developed a passion and an appreciation for dance as an art. The recital is a place to watch your young dancer grow and shine.

Upbeat features two performing/competition companies. There is a "Mini" company for younger dancers and a "Junior/Senior" company for older dancers. These groups of dancers are devoted and talented dancers and have made dance their priority. They take at least four to six technique classes a week in addition to weekend rehearsals. Auditions are every Spring. Please see Lauren for more details.

We look forward to turning dancers of all ages into performers and artists alike.
